"The Glorious Workshop"

תיאטרון פאוזה, חוג תיאטרון חובבים, כתבה ב"שישי בגולן"

The performance of "The Glorious Workshop" puts us in contact with a variety of characters that are taken from various other plays; Israeli and others, which all arrive at a relationship workshop.

The workshop guide, an eccentric charlatan who promised to bring them to a state of joy and calmness, invites the character to raise and carry out significant situations from their lives – with the goal of examining the shattered relationships and reviving them. The audience observes the dramatic scenes that are taken from a number of other familiar plays: "The Craft of Life" by Hanoch Levine, "The Glass Menagerie" by Tennessee Williams, "The Bus Painter" by Hillel Mitelfunkt, "Difficult Love" by Moti Lerner and "Seven" by Shmuel Hasafri.

The characters come out of the scene from the workshop, and return to the workshop at the end of the scene, to receive from the guide – and oftentimes from the rest of the characters present – various "tips" that are different and strange, pop psychology and moral support.

The illustrious guide does not neglect the audience as well. She treats them like the workshop participants who are still finding it difficult to open their lives and complicated relationships publicly. She invites the audience, as well as the characters that are on the stage, to conduct breathing and releasing exercises and disperses a wide array of insights and recommendations.

The performance succeeds in incorporating dramatic and complex content, with a light, sharp and comic shell which provides the audience with an entertaining pause in the time between each new scene. The fact that the characters are always located on the stage and are given the privilege of "living" and existing outside of the play's bubble, from which they are taken, enables the audience and the actors on the stage lots of interest and variety.

The role of the guide was conducted by the group directors, Ronit Ohanna.
